Hearth Dwarves

The Hearth-Dwarves of Marweve aren't your typical underground-dwelling miners. They live in the volcanic island continents, inside what they call the Fire-Peaks, and they've built their whole culture around the idea that lava is less of a threat and more of a communal resource.

They're known for two things: cooking and glasswork. Their kitchens run on geothermal heat, and at the center of every settlement is something called The Ever-Stew—a pot that's literally never empty, always simmering, always being added to. It's part practical, part symbolic. Hospitality isn't just a virtue for them; it's foundational. They also forge Sun-Glass, a volcanic material that comes out clear as crystal but tough as enchanted steel.

Their magic works a bit differently too. It runs on conviction—what they call Heart Magic. The stronger their beliefs, the stronger their power. There's an old saying among them that a cold home makes a cold heart, which explains why they're probably the friendliest people you'll meet in the islands. They actually want strangers to show up.

Physically, their skin has a smooth, stone-like quality to it, almost like basalt. And their beards are something else—braided through with bits of obsidian and, if the stories are true, actual glowing embers.
